Metal cutting circular saws

Prior to the availability of metal cutting saw blades the method most often used to cut metal was to use an abrasive wheel on a saw. This method worked and was used for many years, however, the method was inefficient, time consuming and did not result in a perfect cut. Today, a metal cutting saw in Los Angeles is used to slice through metal as if it was cheese. The blade on a metal cutting saw has been designed and produced exclusively to cut metal, it does it much cleaner than an abrasive blade and the metal does not heat up as much.

A metal cutting saw in Los Angeles has another significant advantage over an abrasive blade and that is cost savings. By its very nature, an abrasive blade wears down, it can only make so many cuts before it is worn out and needs replacing. The replacement cycle can vary but generally speaking an abrasive blade cannot make more than 75 cuts. When a metal cutting saw blade is used for the same job it can last for several thousand cuts before replacement becomes necessary. Even though a metal cutting saw blade is more costly than an abrasive wheel the fact that it outperforms the abrasive wheel actually makes the saw blade the less expensive solution.

A metal cutting saw will make more cuts and it will make them more often and there is very little time required to cool the wheel. Because the metal cutting saw blade rotates considerably slower than an abrasive wheel, the metal does not heat near as much. Because of the reduced rotational speed there is substantially less friction, this results in a cooler operation. A cooler operation makes transferring the cut piece to the next operation in the machine shop quicker, once again, resulting in less cost per operation. Another benefit is the actual cut, an abrasive wheel tends to throw up many burrs, a metal cutting saw blade does not; in many cases this can result in less time spent in a secondary operation to remove burrs.

Although a regular circular saw can be used to cut metal it is not recommended. When metal is cut there are chips and metal cuttings flying off the blade; a regular circular saw housing is open, these metal chips can easily enter into the motor housing, causing the motor to burn out. A metal cutting saw in Los Angeles is specially designed to stop debris from getting into the motor casing. Many metal cutting saws used in high volume production facilities are fitted with a vacuum collector which stops debris from flying about. Read more about metal cutting saw
