Keeping Your Break Room Clean

The breakroom is one of the most used and abused areas of the workplace, second only to the bathroom. Just about everyone uses the break room and it is an important part of the work area as it gives employees a place to unwind and take a break from the hustle and bustle and pressure of work. Rules Posted– make sure the break room rules are posted clearly so everyone can see them and remember them. Include things like smoking policy, dish washing, weekly clean out reminders, and the like. This can be especially helpful for new works or in a situation where there are multiple shifts using the breakroom throughout the day and night.

Assigned Jobs– depending on the size of your business and the number of workers you have, you may want to consider assigning certain jobs to certain workers. That way everyone is responsible and no one wants to make a big mess because it might be them having to clean up the next time.
