An alternative to hemorrhoidectomy is hemorrhoidopexy. For this, the surgeon uses a stapling device to secure the hemorrhoids to their normal position. Just like surgery, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia but it is less painful than traditional surgery and it requires less recovery time. Nonetheless, it is slightly more painful than rubber band litigation and there might be some side effects. However, the advantage is that it needs to be done only once.
